I've never seen a Japanese person wear sunglasses except for fashion purposes. Why is that?

Over here in Blacksburg, VA, there's at least one Japanese-American that wears sunglasses for non-fashion purposes...of course I had to qualify by identifying myself as American...
Hope all is well, Shawn. I've just been too busy to comment/email, etc. So things have been hectic but going well enough...The only thing that's preventing me from going over the edge is that I'm going to Vegas with a few friends in a week!
