For any potential visitors to Palermo: DON'T take the City Sightseeing Bus (aka "The Big Red Ripoff"). They charge 20 euros for a 24 hour hop on/hop off ticket yet most of the main sights they advertise are all within walking distance. We saw all the biggies in 2-3 hours. Palermo is a small city.
